3-Day Eastern Cape Safari with Woodbury Lodge, Amakhala Game Reserve

What are we going to experience ?

Woodbury Lodge, is an intimate, family-run lodge stunningly perched on a cliff above the Bushman's river valley.

Woodbury Lodge, opened in 1999 by the Gush family, is an intimate, family-run lodge stunningly perched on a cliff above the Bushman's river valley in the Amakhala Game Reserve. This breathtaking reserve, located in the malaria-free Frontier Country of South Africa's Eastern Cape, promises fantastic sightings of the Big 5 and various other species.

Woodbury Lodge is located 45 minutes east of Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and provides a secluded location for exhilarating Big Five game viewing in the heart of the Eastern Cape bushveld. The Lodge is quietly nestled against a cliff amid thick riverine vegetation and offers fantastic views of the Bushman's River valley.

Guests are housed in seven lovely stone-and-thatch sleeping lodges surrounded by indigenous trees that are alive with bird songs. Each room offers air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom with heated flooring, and a private veranda with views of the plains. Two family lodges in the portfolio accommodate up to four guests, allowing families to enjoy the African bush together. The solitude of each suite, as well as the design of the bathrooms and distinct outdoor relaxation areas, will enable guests to take their time enjoying the unique environment and breathtaking surroundings.

With spacious terraces overlooking the Woodbury plains, the dining room and lounge are well positioned for breathtaking sunrises or evening drinks around the fire beneath the African sky.
