Kouga Rhino Sanctuary at Lombardini Game Farm – A Rare and Remarkable Encounter

Area

Seekoei River Valley Jeffreys Bay 6330

Description

Just an hour from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and nestled in the lush Seekoei River Valley near Jeffreys Bay and Cape St Francis, the Kouga Rhino Sanctuary offers something truly extraordinary: a close-up encounter with one of Africa’s most iconic and endangered animals: the White Rhino.

Step into the world of Herby, Brittany, Tiffany, and Amanda, the sanctuary’s much-loved rhinos. Each has a story, a personality, and a presence that will leave you in awe. Leading you on this journey is Justin, affectionately known as “the rhino whisperer”, whose deep bond with these magnificent creatures is nothing short of inspiring.

In a world where rhinos are often forced to live under armed guard, Justin knew that rifles and flashlights were not enough. His passion, patience, and tireless dedication have created a sanctuary of hope, a place where conservation meets connection.

But the journey to the rhinos is part of the magic. Before your up-close encounter, take in the stunning scenery of the Seekoei River Valley as you enjoy a guided game drive through Lombardini Game Farm. Framed by rolling hills and coastal vegetation unique to the area between Jeffreys Bay and St Francis, the landscape is as captivating as the wildlife that calls it home.

Keep your eyes peeled for Nyala, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Springbuck, Eland, Zebra, Duiker, and both Common and Black Impala, all roaming freely across the reserve.

Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, photographer, or simply seeking an unforgettable experience, the Kouga Rhino Sanctuary delivers a heartwarming and eye-opening glimpse into South Africa’s wild heart.
