What are we going to experience ?

The ultimate safari adventure, combining a morning Addo Elephant National Park Tour with the afternoon/evening Schotia Tooth & Claw Safari.

Prepare for an unforgettable journey as you embark on the ultimate safari adventure, combining a morning Addo Elephant National Park Tour with the afternoon/evening Schotia Tooth & Claw Safari to discover the finest game viewing the Eastern Cape offers.

Morning Marvel: Addo Elephant National Park Tour
Your day begins with our morning Guided Tour of Addo Elephant National Park. Climb into a luxurious, air-conditioned vehicle, setting the stage for a day of unparalleled discovery. Your adventure kicks off as you explore the diverse wonders of the park, from the arid landscapes of the northern Karoo to the mesmerising coastal vistas nestled between the Sundays and Bushman's river mouths.

As you traverse the park's varied biomes, prepare for heart-pounding encounters with the legendary Big Five: the African elephant, formidable rhinoceros, majestic lion, stately buffalo, and elusive leopard. Addo Elephant National Park proudly holds the title of the world's densest concentration of wild elephants, with a thriving population exceeding 650 of these magnificent giants.

Beyond the awe-inspiring wildlife, the park is also home to the remarkable Spekboom or Elephant Bush plant, contributing to Addo's unique ecosystem and aiding in combating climate change through its extraordinary carbon absorption capabilities. Representing five of South Africa's seven biomes, the park is one of the most ecologically diverse places on the Earth.

Don't miss the chance to spot the Addo Flightless Dung Beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.

Wildlife Wisdom: A Look into Addo's Unique Ecosystem
Did you know? A waterhole near the rest camp was one of the best places to see elephants in the 1970s.

Elephants play a crucial role in the environment by reshaping the landscape, creating trails, and facilitating the growth of various plants. Baboons and birds rummage through their droppings for undigested seeds and nuts.

Afternoon Extravaganza: Schotia Private Game Reserve
But the adventure doesn't end there. In the afternoon and evening, join us at the Schotia Private Game Reserve, bordering the renowned Addo Elephant National Park. Here, embark on an extraordinary Big Five game viewing experience with over 40 mammal species and more than 2,000 individual animals.

Nestled in a malaria-free environment, Schotia is one of the most densely populated game reserves, offering diurnal and nocturnal wildlife encounters. Rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, and many other species await you. Plus, you'll have the chance to see free-roaming lions, a unique feature in the Cape Province.

Evening Delight: Schotia's Open-Air Lapa Experience
The Schotia experience extends to an open-air lapa with a traditional thatched roof covering the dining and bar areas. Inside, towering "Schotia" trees and a roaring log fire create a cosy ambience.

For dinner, enjoy a delectable blend of safari-inspired cuisine and traditional South African flavours, with the menu adapting to the availability of fresh, local ingredients. It's a culinary journey that perfectly complements your safari experience.
