Things to do – Pabala Honey and Gin Tasting

Pabala Private Nature Reserve is a magnificent, undiscovered gem between the Baviaanskloof and the Garden Route, just before Loerie on the R330 on your way to Hankey.

The reserve is located in the Loerie district, some 30 kilometres from the beautiful beaches of Jeffrey's Bay, between the Garden Road coastal route and the Baviaanskloof Mega Park Reserve. Consider large, open areas with breathtaking views of nature at its best. Furthermore, large terraces serve as viewing platforms for wildlife as it goes towards the local watering hole.

They have a variety of activities available, such as game drives, 4x4 trails, honey and gin tastings, and bird watching. Your mind, body, and spirit will be relaxed, revived, and renewed after time here.

The scenery is stunningly beautiful and great for photography.

Express: Honey Tasting:
A 45-minute educational session about honey and the importance of bees, followed by a tasting of seasonal samples available, which you get to take home.

Executive Honey Tasting:
A 45-minute educational session about honey and the importance of bees, followed by a tasting of seasonal samples available, which you get to take home. A light lunch follows this at the 'Local is Lekker' restaurant.

Craft Gin, Vodka, and Spiced Rum Tasting:
Enjoy a selection of various natural alcohols made on the farm using ingredients not exceeding a radius of 30km from Pabala Private Nature Reserve. Have fun mixing the drinks with different garnishes and tonics to find your preferred mix. There is a range of seasonal gin options, including Strawberry Gin, Citrus Gin, Honeybush Gin, and Prickly Pear Gin. The Spiced Rum is made from burnt fudge and oak.
