Watch out for indigenous birdlife and marvel at the towering Alexandria Dune Fields. This is the largest and least degraded coastal dune field in South Africa, close to Addo Elephant National Park.
The Sundays River flows through a picturesque valley and past the seaside community of Colchester. The river reaches the Indian Ocean 40 kilometres from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), forming an estuary ideal for bird watching, kayaking, and boat tours.

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
We will travel to the small town of Colchester, where we will check in at A Taste of Africa Restaurant 30 minutes before the start. The cruise promises to be a relaxing safari along the majestic Sundays River. We will pass the Alexandria Coastal Dune Field and stop next to these magnificent dunes.
There will be time to get off the boat and take pictures on the picturesque white sandy beach. If you feel like it, take a short walk to the top of the dunes. Here you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views in Nelson Mandela Bay: the vast blue sea and sky and the islands of the coastal section of Addo National Park.
From the top of the dunes, you can witness the never-ending beauty of the ocean, from the vast horizon to the distant St Croix Islands for a sight you will soon not forget!
Afterwards, you are welcome to visit the local on-site restaurant, A Taste of Africa, for something to eat or a cool, refreshing drink. (This will be for your own account)
