This lush reserve provides an unforgettable escape into the wild, making it perfect for a morning or afternoon adventure. The landscape combines sweeping grasslands with dense coastal forest, creating an ideal habitat for a remarkable variety of wildlife.
On this guided safari, expect close encounters with giraffes, rhinos, zebras, nyala, waterbuck, impala, and buffalo. Watch playful vervet monkeys, spot a cheetah lounging in the shade, and perhaps see a warthog trotting across your path. The park’s rich birdlife also makes it a paradise for birdwatchers.
Because the park has no hunting and minimal human interference, the animals are relaxed and easy to observe, offering fantastic opportunities for wildlife photography. A highlight of the visit is the lion enclosure, where you’ll hear the remarkable rescue story of four lions saved from Ukraine and brought to safety in South Africa.
Your experience begins with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation or cruise terminal in Gqeberha. A scenic, comfortable drive brings you to Kragga Kamma, where your adventure unfolds.
For the morning safari, you’ll arrive in time for a brief comfort stop and refreshments at the Bush Café before setting off on a two-hour guided game drive at 10:00. Returning from your safari, enjoy a delicious local lunch with a R250 dining voucher before your driver takes you back to your accommodation or cruise terminal in the early afternoon.
If you prefer an afternoon safari, your day begins with a late-morning pick-up and a leisurely coastal lunch (R250 voucher included) before heading to the park.
After orientation and a quick refreshment stop, embark on the two-hour guided game drive starting at 14:00. As the sun begins to set and the wildlife becomes more active, you’ll experience a different side of the park before your return transfer to Gqeberha in the early evening.
This half-day tour combines the thrill of a classic safari with the convenience of a close-to-city reserve, making it perfect for travellers looking to connect with nature, capture stunning wildlife photos, and enjoy a peaceful escape from urban life.
