Boat Based Adventures: Ocean / Canal / River

Canal Boat Cruises, are an ideal way to take in the opulent homes and activities around the canals. Departs from in front of the Greek Restaurant on the canals. An hour-long relaxed family outing that is suitable for all ages.

The Bay Cruise is all about getting out on the ocean and feeling the sea breeze on your face. The cruise is around the safe bay of St Francis and takes in the lovely scenery, beaches and famous surf spots. Chances are great to spot Dolphins along the way. Your Captain will enrich your knowledge of local ecosystems, some interesting anecdotes and the history of the bay. The Bay Cruise is 45 min -1 hour in length.

The Eco Cruise. Out into the bay, we cruise up the coast taking in the beauty of the scenic reserve, sand dunes and beaches along the way up to Shark point where we will stop to check out the seals lazing on the rocks. Keep a close eye out for sharks they are not easy to spot but they are definitively here. June through to November we experience a high success rate of spotting Southern right and humpback whales who can be seen swimming on their annual migration south. Occasionally if the whales are in the bay, we have a close encounter. (For a close encounter see our Whale Watching Cruises Whale season is June – Nov) Numerous pods of dolphins reside here year-round along with penguins, seals and a variety of other birds and marine life. Trips are 1 hour in length and can be enjoyed by anyone keen on an outstanding marine experience.

St Francis Safaris Deep Sea Fishing Half Day (5 hours). Year-round the variety of species in our waters provides us with some of the country’s most successful fishing excursions. St Francis Safaris offer customers a fishing experience geared to suit all levels of ability. Owner Tim Christy a Protea fisherman and record holder in many categories has fished these waters for over 30 years and has his finger on the pulse. His knowledge of the region’s best spots for targeting species such as Yellowtail, Garrick, Cape Salmon and Yellow Fin Tuna has proven to lure customers and celebrities such as Robson Greenback year after year. Weather permitting excursions to leave Port St Francis daily from 7 am till lunch time or 3 pm to just after dark 5 hours on the water, all bait and quality tackle is supplied, and the trips are taken on one of our big, clean walks -around boat options.
